Kitchen Remodel These homeowners were inspired to create a drastic change to their existing kitchen. Although they had lived in the home for many years and were happy with the neighborhood and property, they were unhappy with their dark, confining and outdated kitchen area.
By removing the main wall between the kitchen, dining and living rooms they were able to gain some much needed space and create an updated area for entertaining. A very large center island allows comfortable seating for five adults. Three stylish pendant lights accent this beautiful new work and dining space. Cabinetry is maple with a chocolate glaze with varying heights on the upper cabinets. A matching cabinet surround allows the vent hood to blend in nicely with the remaining cabinetry. Drawers are full extension maple with dove-tailed corners. The lower cabinets feature a lazy-susan, trash cabinet, pot/pan drawers and roll out shelves. To complete their stylish new look, a stainless steel appliance package was installed that included a commercial style range, cabinet depth refrigerator, under counter microwave and dishwasher. Other features include granite counters with a tumbled marble splash, large porcelain travertine look tile floor and faux finished walls.
Receiving a better than expected result, the homeowners were pleasantly surprised by the final outcome and their roomy and exciting new living space.
This project won the 2008 National Association of the Remodeling Industry, Dallas, Contractor Of The Year award for a kitchen $30,000 to $60,000. |
